Karen brings more than a decade of experience designing and delivering English enrichment programmes across public, private and nonprofit settings in Asia, supporting primary school children and adult learners alike.

Her ECDA certification reinforces her belief that effective learning begins with emotional safety, connection and joy. As the founder of Kallos Kids and creator of the Eager Readers literacy programme, she designs purposeful learning experiences that nurture literacy alongside character, curiosity and critical thinking.

As Co-Founder, Karen leads ProgressLab’s Academic and Programme Specialist Panel, bringing together educators and specialist partners to shape purposeful learning experiences. Her work connects academic learning with the encouragement children need to participate and try.

Ms Joyce brings more than 15 years of experience across classroom teaching and personalised academic coaching. She taught English and Mathematics at The Learning Lab’s United Square centre and previously served as Head Teacher at Nanyang Education, building a strong foundation in structured teaching and educational leadership.

Through The Maths Café, she tailors one-to-one coaching to each learner’s needs. Her experience with both local and international students informs a responsive approach: identify what a child understands, work carefully through gaps and build the confidence to tackle the next challenge.

Ms Joyce manages ProgressLab Academics. Her focus is thoughtful subject support: understanding what each learner needs, addressing gaps carefully and building confidence through clear explanations and purposeful practice.

FOUNDER · TAIP™ & TECHNOLOGY LEAD

Venie

Venie founded ProgressLab with a belief that strong academic support and room for childhood belong together. She leads organisational direction, TAIP development and strategic partnerships with private equity and venture capital.

She leads TAIP development with contributions from NUS and NTU postgraduate students and a researcher from NIEC, bringing technology and research perspectives to practical tools that help educators document observations, coordinate support and follow through.

Her focus is building the systems behind attentive care and meaningful parent communication. Educators remain responsible for educational judgement and parent reports.

Specialists contribute scheduled programmes. Before enrolment, ask which educators and facilitators are assigned to your child’s cohort and how parent communication will work.

Shawn and Scott bring tennis into the PGL week through encouraging, age-appropriate group experiences. Scott is an AATC-certified Advanced Professional Tennis Coach with more than eight years of coaching experience, working with learners from first-time beginners through to competitive players.

Scott’s credentials & experience
Scott is registered with Singapore’s National Registry of Coaches and National Registry of Exercise Professionals, and is certified or recognised through ActiveSG, CoachSG, SportSG and MOE. He is CPR and AED trained. An active competitive player with about 20 years of tennis experience, he won the 2024 STA Men’s Doubles Chan Cup. He received the AATC Global Tennis Award 2025, serves as Head Coach for NUS Sheares Hall, and was Tournament Director for Sport Singapore’s SportCares Play Inclusive — Soundball 2024. His work has also been featured on Channel 5, Channel 8, Channel U and CNA.

Delvin joined the Singapore Slingers at 16 and represented Singapore across multiple international competitions. He earned team bronze medals at the 2013 and 2015 SEA Games and received the Most Rebounds award at the 2016 SEABA Cup.

Shu Yi brings several years of private one-to-one tutoring experience with primary and secondary students, including O-Level preparation. Her particular strengths are Chinese and Science, especially Chemistry.

An NTU graduate, also known as Jelsey, Shu Yi has experience in peer and private tutoring in secondary Mathematics and Physics. She has also worked in tuition-centre administration and helped prepare learning materials. At PGL, she supports children’s academic work and learning routines alongside the education team.

Shalett Paulson

Technology risk experience at EYPython & AI governance

Shalett brings experience in technology risk, AI governance and automated reporting from her work at EY. Now pursuing postgraduate studies at NUS, she combines software engineering with a thoughtful approach to traceability and responsible technology.

Her PGL role brings together TAIP technology development alongside Suren and on-site event facilitation. She will contribute to practical digital tools and reporting workflows, while helping children participate in PGL activities under the education team’s guidance.

Academic & experience highlights
Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communication with a minor in Computer Science Engineering from PES University. Her university project team placed second at the InGenius Hackathon in 2023. At EY, she worked on Python tools for AI model and dependency traceability and automated compliance reporting.

TAIP TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT

Suren Suhas

NTU · Pursuing an MSc in Robotics and Intelligent Systems

Suren is a full-time master’s student at NTU, bringing a robotics and intelligent systems perspective to TAIP’s digital development.

His work with PGL focuses on prototype Learning & Support Snapshots, connecting report statements to source observations and developing reporting workflows for educator review. This helps keep the distinction between an observation, an unknown and a proposed next step clear.

These tools are in development. Educators remain responsible for interpreting observations, making educational judgements and reviewing reports before they are shared with families.

Alongside our technology contributors, a full-time researcher from NIEC who is also pursuing a PhD contributes a research perspective to TAIP’s development.

These are individual contributors’ affiliations; their involvement does not imply institutional endorsement or a formal university partnership.

We are working closely with NTU CareerAxis to expand our TAIP development team.

Development focuses on connecting educator observations, support actions, progress reviews and parent updates. The aim is to help the team keep track of what has been tried, how a child responds and what to consider next.
